Offspace Kaisitz befindet sich inmitten großer Veränderungen. Seit wir im Jahr 2012 angefangen haben, unser Haus für jährliche Künstlertreffen zu öffnen, hat sich viel getan und wir befinden uns nun inmitten einer Gründungsphase mit dem Ziel, neue Strukturen für diverse Arten des Schaffens, der Begegnung und des Lernens zu entwickeln.

Viele Künstler*innen und Freund*innen haben mit Unterstützung, Liebe und vor allem: Arbeit dabei geholfen, den Ort und das Projekt nach und nach zu transformieren. Nun ist OK dabei, aus dem Kokon zu schlüpfen..

Mit dem neu entstehenden Arbeitsraum im ehemaligen Kuhstall gewinnt das Haus eine neue Mitte und tritt in die nächste Phase des Projektes ein, in dem sich in einem Geist der Offenheit und des Willkommens neue Formate und Programme wie Workshops, Vorträge und andere Anlässe zur Begegnung und Austausch entwickeln können. Dabei spielt die Formierung der Werkstätten eine zentrale Rolle: mit Arbeitstischen, Grafikschränken, Werkzeugen zur Bearbeitung verschiedener Materialien, Druckmöglichkeiten usw. entsteht nun endlich die Möglichkeit zum konzentrierten Arbeiten und zur Weitergabe von Techniken.

Wohin geht es? Was wird an diesem Ort in der Zukunft geschehen? Offspace Kaisitz will vor Allem eines sein: ein familiärer Ort, der sich Öffnet zur Begegnung, zum Austausch und zum gemeinsamen Schaffen. Ein Ort des Lernens, der Gemeinschaft, der Bewahrung, Wiederbelebung und Vermittlung ländlichen Wissens und der damit verbundenen Praktiken. Die verschiedenen Sammlungen, Bibliotheken und Archive bieten zusätzlich einen Rahmen für Forschung und Vernetzung.

Arche, Keimzelle, Rückzugs- und Sehnsuchtsort, ein Zuhause am Ende der Welt, Zeitkapsel und Knotenpunkt.

Offspace Kaisitz is in the middle of great transformations. Starting out as a mere family home with artists gathering throughout the last years, we are in the midst of a founding process, that is aiming to create a more diverse structure to provide and program spaces for learning, art production and healing. A lot has happened. When we started out, the gatherings at Kaisitz had been PleinAirs, meetings of artists to explore and retreat, to spend some time in a community of artists at this beautiful place at the countryside.

By now, there are a lot more aspects of the place and the project evolving. And the Offspace Kaisitz is starting to shed its cocoon. Many artists and friends have put in support, love and: work to help transforming and shaping the place and the project.

So where do we go from here? What will this special place be about?
It will be about learning. And community. But also the preservation and reactivation of practices and knowledge related to country living and nature. With the collections, libraries and archive, Offspace Kaisitz also offers situations for research and knowledge-production.

With the studio space at the Kuhstall, the project enters another level of possibilities and programming. Having a real studio means that we can develop a whole number of projects and create a surrounding with a spirit that promotes open-mindedness and at the same time is tied to and connected with the ancestral vibe of the place, its many and diverse resources and old practices, and: a start into a new time of sharing and curating encounters and situations of learning.

Looking foreward into the future, Offspace Kaisitz is striving to become a place to learn, to train and to experience a feeling of home that is intrinsic to the place. After all, Offspace Kaisitz is a family home and there will always be that interesting pulse between familiarity and openness towards the unknown.
